Can you blame kids for being so confused? They have the wrong idea about what fame really is anyway. They think the only way to get famous is through entertainment.

Have you seen what most children/teen shows are about? People getting into the entertainment industry (Hannah Montana, Shake It Up, Austin & Ally, Victorious, iCarly, etc.) So perhaps these younger people feel some type of pressure to be what they see on the TV?

I’m sure if more kid shows would have a storyline of many kids wanting many things (to be a doctor, fire fighter, police officer, volunteer worker, even just an artist, etc.) that they would then feel pressure to try and be those things. If kids are looking for fame, I hope we can show them that they can be the next famous astrobiologist, doctor, humanitarian, etc…
